Today Related Urban and Opa-locka Community Development Corporation break ground on Opa-locka’s first affordable housing project, the Town Center Apartments, the firms announced. The developers hope the project will catalyze the redevelopment of Opa-locka’s Downtown District. The six-story, 127-unit project will also be Opa-locka’s first transit-oriented development as it is within walking distance to the city’s tri-rail station, a statement from the groups said.
