Reserve at Summit site
City Council members in Greenacres approved the Reserve at Summit single-family development despite opposition from several residents.
The Central Palm Beach County site on 16 acres west of Ranchette Road and south of Summit Boulevard previously got the OK for a similar project eight years ago, according to the Palm Beach Post. But that development stalled after the housing market collapse. Council members unanimously awarded a special exception and site plan change during Monday’s meeting.
Three existing single-family homes are currently located on the three-property site. But the developer has a contract to buy those properties and plans to demolish them. Reserve, which is being planned by Land Design South, would include a pool and clubhouse.
Some residents objected to the project’s traffic impact. Others warned that Reserve would eliminate the neighborhood’s quaintness. [Palm Beach Post] — Eric Kalis
