A Boca Raton-based developer is planning a amenity-packed residential complex for a vacant lot that used to be home to a trailer park.
An affiliate of Ascend Properties is planning the $32 million redevelopment at 1224 Northeast 24th Street near Colohatchee Park between Dixie Highway and Northeast 15th Avenue.
The previous owner of the lot racked up more than $500,000 in code violations, the South Florida Business Journal reported.
“This vacant seven-plus acres has been an eyesore to the surrounding neighborhood, impacted property values, and had [sic] been an overall hindrance to neighborhood revitalization,” said the town’s Mayor Gary Resnick in a news release, the Journal reported.
The 179-unit development will include a clubhouse, fitness center, pool, dog park, urban art plaza and an electric car charging station. [South Florida Business Journal] — Angela Hunt
