Two months after Miami officials approved Wal-Mart’s plans for a Midtown store, the Arkansas-based corporation paid $8.2 million for the site.
Ohio-based DDR Miami Avenue, run by James Farrell, opted to unload the 4.6-acre site at 3055 North Miami Avenue.
Residents of Midtown, a new, master-planned community near the artsy Design District, have been appealing Wal-Mart’s Class 2 permit, arguing that the store will clash with its neighbors, as previously reported.
