The founder of a mortgage servicing firm was sentenced to five years in prison Tuesday for her role in a Florida robo-signing scheme, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Lorraine Brown, 56, founded the company DocX, which later became Jacksonville-based LPS Document Solutions, which prepared and filed more than 1 million fraudulently signed and notarized documents, the Post said.

A grand jury indictment was filed against DocX in February 2012 after Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster and the governments of Nevada and Michigan filed claims accusing the company of forgery and false declarations, as The Real Deal previously reported. [Palm Beach Post] Emily Schmall
