The Redbury Hotel, Los Angeles

Los Angeles is expanding its footprint in South Beach, the Miami Herald reported.

After the success of the SLS Hotel South Beach, opened last year by the L.A.-based hospitality and development company sbe, The Redbury Hotel South Beach, a sister to The Redbury at Hollywood and Vine, will open this fall, the Herald said.

Levy Restaurants founder and chairman Larry Levy, developer Bob Heyat and sbe, co-owner of the Raleigh Hotel, are behind the Miami Beach Redbury project.

Though not ocean side, the 69-room property whose design is influenced by Hollywood and Art Deco, will have beach and pool access at the SLS and Raleigh, down the street on Collins Ave.

The Redbury will boast a 12,000-square-foot rooftop pool and an Italian restaurant called Lorenzo from Tony Mantuano, a James Beard Award winner. The hotel will be the cheapest option on the block, $50 to $75 less per night than the Raleigh, which charges about $75 to $100 less for rooms than the SLS. [Miami Herald]Emily Schmall
